Project Description: The Illuminarium is a 14,000 sq. ft. family adventure, meeting and event space featuring two rooms brought to life through 4k laser projection and 3D audio effects. Visitors find themselves immersed in various scenes from safari to outer space to ancient Egypt.
Scope of Work: Our scope included metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings and acoustical insulation. In addition, we installed several custom materials including felt sound baffles, GFRG specialty pieces and specialty FRP.
Special Challenges: The 25’ high projection walls were a unique challenge featuring multiple curves and complex radiuses. Not only did the walls require a seamless finish, but we also needed to create a smooth transition at the base of the walls so that they would appear to gradually meld into the floorspace. We worked with our vendor partner to build a custom radius GFRG panel that would achieve the required look.

As President of Brasington Bailey, Doug Dillard plays an integral role in all aspects of the business including sales, estimating, project management, client relations and strategic planning. Before coming to Brasington Bailey in 2019, Doug held several positions with a large general contractor including Field Engineer Superintendent and Self Perform Trades Manager. This enabled him to gain first-hand knowledge of what it takes to make a project successful from our customer’s point-of-view. From sales and cost management to estimating and production management, Doug’s insight helps our company understand the challenges that our customers face and offer practical solutions to positively impact their bottom line. Doug is an especially valuable resource during pre-construction planning, assisting with budgeting early on to minimize surprises and unforeseen costs later.
Doug is a resident of Peachtree Corners with his wife Morgan and holds a Construction Management degree from Georgia Southern (2012).
Prior to co-founding Brasington Bailey in 2013, Eric had a long-standing career in the construction industry. He was first introduced to the fundamentals of construction at a young age by working with his father. In the early 1990’s, while attending the Southern College of Technology in Marietta, he went to work for one of Atlanta’s large specialty contractors.
Today, Eric leads Brasington Bailey on its mission of being the drywall subcontractor of choice for its customers. He is dedicated to building and maintaining successful working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors and employees. It is these relationships that have made Brasington Bailey the organization it is today.
