GA Aquarium-Café

Atlanta, GA

Project Description: This $19.5M total interior renovation of the existing GA Aquarium Café was undertaken to enhance the dining experience for guests. The remodeled, now two-story dining space offers seating for 525 guests as well as a new mezzanine structure that increased the building’s overall square footage. Additionally, guests now can take advantage of the Aquarium’s increased food options, streamlined ordering process and views of downtown Atlanta from inside the Café.

Scope of work: Our scope of work for this renovation project included cold formed metal framing, non-structural metal framing, sheathing, drywall and acoustical ceilings. In addition, we installed several specialty systems such as acoustical fabric panels, baffle ceilings and metal column covers.

Special Challenges: Performing a remodel in a building that is currently open to the public is always a challenge. From material transport to noise control to clean up procedures, we put processes in place to not only work safely and efficiently, but with the goal of zero impact on the active guest experience or the aquatic life.

Doug Dillard

President

As President of Brasington Bailey, Doug Dillard plays an integral role in all aspects of the business including sales, estimating, project management, client relations and strategic planning.
